description

Apache DataSketches C++ before 5.3.0 can overflow heap memory while deserializing HLL sketches. An attacker who can supply a crafted sketch to an application may cause a crash or potentially achieve further impact. Exposure requires the application to deserialize HLL sketch data from an untrusted source.

mitigation

Upgrade apache/datasketches-cpp to version 5.3.0 or later. Until upgraded, do not deserialize HLL sketches received from untrusted sources.
