description

Session Smart Conductor installations running an unfixed release are affected by an OS command injection flaw in AutomatedProvisioner. A remote unauthenticated attacker may run commands as root if they can submit a crafted Salt minion identifier for processing.

mitigation

Upgrade Session Smart Conductor to 7.0.5, 7.1.7, or 7.2.3, as appropriate for the deployed release branch. Restrict access to AutomatedProvisioner and Salt management interfaces until the upgrade is complete.

fixed in 7.0.5, 7.1.7, 7.2.3

outcome

Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
