description

Kroki versions before 0.31.2 can allow unauthenticated users to read files available to the container account through the TikZ diagram-rendering interface, even when safe mode is enabled. An attacker must be able to submit TikZ or LaTeX diagram content to a reachable Kroki API endpoint; returned diagram output may expose readable secrets or configuration data.

mitigation

Upgrade Kroki to version 0.31.2 or later. Until upgraded, restrict untrusted access to TikZ rendering endpoints and limit files and secrets available to the Kroki container.

fixed in 0.31.2
