description

MediaWiki installations using the ExternalData extension before version 3.7 are affected by an OS command injection flaw. An attacker may be able to execute operating-system commands through the vulnerable extension; the evidence does not establish the required access level or request conditions.

mitigation

Upgrade the MediaWiki ExternalData extension to version 3.7 or later. Until upgraded, reduce exposure by disabling the extension where it is not required.

fixed in 3.7
