description

Network Policy Server (NPS) on the listed Windows and Windows Server releases contains a heap buffer overflow. An unauthenticated attacker who can connect to the NPS service may be able to run code on the affected system.

mitigation

Update affected systems to the applicable fixed build: 10.0.14393.9612, 10.0.17763.9376, 10.0.19044.7807, 10.0.22631.7652, 10.0.26100.9711, 10.0.26200.9711, 10.0.28000.3231, 10.0.26300.9711, 6.2.9200.26434, 6.3.9600.23470, 10.0.20348.5761, or 10.0.26100.33650, according to the installed release. Until patched, limit NPS network access to required trusted clients.
