description

Office-PowerPoint-MCP-Server versions through 2.0.7 can access files outside the configured working directory. An attacker who can invoke the relevant MCP functionality or influence an agent that invokes it may read external files or modify files writable by the service.

mitigation

Restrict MCP access to trusted callers and run the service with a dedicated account that has access only to necessary files and directories. No corrected release is identified in the available package data; limit the service's filesystem permissions until an update is available.
