description

Docmost 0.21.0 mishandles paths supplied for avatar attachments. An unauthenticated remote attacker may read files from the host when the affected public endpoint is reachable.

mitigation

Restrict or disable unauthenticated access to public avatar-attachment endpoints and limit the Docmost service account's access to sensitive files. Place the service behind authentication or network access controls until vendor update guidance or a fixed release is available.

outcome

Upstream: a detection for this already ships elsewhere, so we didn't generate a new one. The credit goes to whoever did.
