description

Affected WSO2 Identity Server, Key Manager, Open Banking IAM, and SCIM components can incorrectly authorize federated identities against matching local accounts. An authenticated federated user may alter or take control of a local account when both identities use the same username and the user can access a SCIM 1.1 or 2.0 endpoint.

mitigation

Upgrade Identity Server as Key Manager to 5.10.0.370, Open Banking IAM to 2.0.0.419, or Identity Server to 5.10.0.379, 5.11.0.415, 6.0.0.251, 6.1.0.251, 7.0.0.127, or 7.1.0.34; upgrade the affected SCIM common packages to their listed fixed releases. Until upgrades are complete, restrict SCIM endpoint access for federated users and prevent local and federated accounts from sharing usernames.

fixed in 5.10.0.370, 2.0.0.419, 5.10.0.379, 5.11.0.415, 6.0.0.251, 6.1.0.251, 7.0.0.127, 7.1.0.34, 5.6.0.1, 5.6.1.2, 5.7.0.3, 5.7.1.1, 5.7.7.1, 5.7.8.1, 1.5.1.40, 1.5.46.47
