description

Bytebase 0.12.0 through versions before 1.0.1 is affected by an authentication bypass in its GitLab self-hosted login handling. An unauthenticated attacker may obtain a session for an existing account, including an administrative account, or create a new member when the affected login path is reachable.

mitigation

Upgrade Bytebase to version 1.0.1 or later. Until upgraded, restrict access to the affected GitLab self-hosted login endpoint and limit Bytebase access to trusted users and networks.
