This entry duplicated another and was withdrawn in its favour.
Superseded by ETK-2026-1655.
ETK-2026-961Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
withdrawndescription
Vert.x Core WebSocket handling can allocate unbounded memory while decompressing frames or messages. A remote peer able to send compressed WebSocket traffic can cause denial of service by triggering excessive decompression.
mitigation
Upgrade io.vertx:vertx-core to 5.1.10, 5.2.1, or 4.5.35, as appropriate for your release line. Until upgraded, restrict exposure to untrusted WebSocket peers and apply connection or traffic limits.
fixed in 5.1.10, 5.2.1, 4.5.35
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
source signals
Public signals that triggered or updated the pipeline. These are inputs for the deltas above.
