description

GitLab CE/EE deployments using both OmniAuth SAML and LDAP automatic linking are affected before the fixed releases. An authenticated user could potentially gain control of another existing LDAP-backed account without the account owner's participation.

Still under analysis: more detail becomes available as the pipeline runs.

mitigation

Upgrade GitLab to 19.3.6, 19.4.3, or 19.5.1, as appropriate for the release branch. Until upgrading, disable either OmniAuth SAML or LDAP auto-linking to remove the required condition.

fixed in 19.3.6, 19.4.3, 19.5.1
