ETK-2026-231Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.description
Tari Ootle v0.41.2 validator nodes can mishandle semantically incomplete consensus messages received over libp2p. An unauthenticated peer able to reach a validator's public P2P interface can interrupt its consensus worker; gossip delivery can affect multiple reachable validators, and recovery near an epoch transition may leave a node out of sync.
mitigation
Restrict validator P2P access and consensus-gossip participation to trusted peers or networks where deployment controls permit it. Monitor affected validators for recovery loops or consensus divergence, and apply a vendor-provided corrected release when one is published.
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
