ETK-2026-1938Zero's internal tracking ID, independent of the CVE number.
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.description
Pillow versions before 13.0.0 bundle an affected OpenJPEG decoder in their binary wheels. An attacker who can cause an application to load a crafted image may corrupt memory and crash the process; exposure requires the application to process untrusted images through Pillow, including inputs whose file name or declared type disguises their actual format.
mitigation
Upgrade Pillow to version 13.0.0 or later. Until upgrades are complete, reject untrusted image formats except an explicit allowlist enforced during decoding, and isolate image-processing workers.
fixed in 13.0.0
outcome
Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
