description

Deno 2.7.0 through 2.9.7 on Windows is affected in the Node-compatible node:child_process module. An attacker may execute commands with the Deno process's permissions when an application supplies untrusted arguments to a child process with the shell option enabled.

mitigation

On Windows, avoid enabling shell when child-process arguments can be influenced by untrusted input, and strictly constrain such input where shell use cannot be removed. Update to a vendor-fixed Deno release when one is published.
