description

vm2 versions 3.10.1 through 3.11.6 can allow code running in a VM sandbox to escape the sandbox and access capabilities of the host Node.js process. Exploitation requires an application to execute attacker-controlled JavaScript in a default vm2 VM on Node.js 26.

mitigation

Upgrade vm2 to version 3.11.7 or later. Until upgrading, do not execute untrusted JavaScript with vm2 on Node.js 26.

fixed in 3.11.7
