description

Apache WSS4J versions of org.apache.wss4j:wss4j-ws-security-common before the listed fixes do not sufficiently constrain derived-key parameters. An attacker whose WS-Security messages are processed can cause weak key derivation or increase CPU and memory use.

mitigation

Upgrade org.apache.wss4j:wss4j-ws-security-common to 4.0.2, 3.0.6, or 2.4.4, as appropriate for the release line. Restrict processing of untrusted WS-Security messages until the upgrade is complete.

fixed in 4.0.2, 3.0.6, 2.4.4
