CVE-2026-73639
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.GHSA-jhx5-34j8-9g88 ↗EUVD-2026-82492 ↗
description
Imager before 1.035 and Imager-File-PNG before 1.004 can write past a PNG row buffer while reading certain 8-bit PNG files with transparency data. An attacker who can cause the application to process a crafted PNG may corrupt process memory and crash the application.
mitigation
Upgrade Imager to 1.035 or later and Imager-File-PNG to 1.004 or later. Until upgrades are complete, do not process untrusted PNG files with affected versions.
fixed in 1.035, 1.004
outcome
Contextual check: a technique exists and was validated, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
