description

Cloud Foundry UAA can incorrectly treat a user access token as client authentication when issuing a client_credentials token. An authenticated attacker may gain the permissions assigned to that OAuth client if the same client supports both public user authorization and client_credentials grants.

mitigation

Separate public user-facing authorization flows and client_credentials grants onto different OAuth client IDs, and remove client_credentials from public clients where possible. Review and minimize authorities assigned to affected clients, then revoke and reissue exposed tokens or credentials as appropriate.
