description
WatchGuard Fireware OS spamBlocker (spamd) contains a stack-based buffer overflow. An authenticated administrator may use a malicious management request to disrupt the service or potentially run code; administrator-level access is required.
mitigation
Update Fireware OS to 2026.3.2, 2026.2.3, 12.12.3, or 12.5.21, as appropriate for the deployed release branch. Restrict management access to trusted administrators until updates are installed.
fixed in 2026.3.2, 2026.2.3, 12.12.3, 12.5.21
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
