CVE-2026-112393
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-332p-7hrc-92wf ↗EUVD-2026-104603 ↗
description
Pillow versions before 13.0.0 can overflow a heap buffer and expose stale heap data when a service re-saves compressed TIFF input to an in-memory or other non-file-descriptor destination. An attacker must be able to provide TIFF content that the service opens and writes back as TIFF through such a destination; the overflow can crash the process and may permit further impact.
mitigation
Upgrade Pillow to version 13.0.0 or later. Until upgraded, avoid re-saving untrusted TIFF images to BytesIO or other destinations without a usable file descriptor; use real file-backed outputs where feasible.
fixed in 13.0.0
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
