description

Vanus 0.8.0 through 0.9.0 includes a default administrator credential accepted by the gateway gRPC proxy. An unauthenticated remote attacker who can reach that proxy may obtain cluster-administrator permissions and administer resources or access event data.

mitigation

Immediately restrict gateway gRPC proxy access to trusted administrative networks and block untrusted remote connections. Review cluster administration activity and credentials for possible misuse; no fixed Vanus version is recorded in the advisory.
