CVE-2026-111444
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.GHSA-cpjx-54pq-8rcv ↗EUVD-2026-102606 ↗
description
Wheels through 4.1.2 can construct injectable SQL when applications send request-controlled values through inline-literal query paths on MySQL or MariaDB. An attacker may alter database queries when backslash escaping is enabled and the application uses unbound query positions; bound query paths are not affected.
mitigation
Upgrade Wheels to 4.2.0. Until upgraded, use bound query APIs for request-derived values and avoid inline-literal query options or unbound query fragments.
fixed in 4.2.0
outcome
Mechanism verified: the exploit fired on the vulnerable build and stayed silent on the patched one, but the server it ran against was ours, so no check ships for it.
