CVE-2026-111231
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-prh2-rh73-jcp7 ↗EUVD-2026-102343 ↗
description
pfSense CE through 2.9.0 does not consistently enforce the configuration-write restriction in certain WebGUI configuration-management functions. An authenticated user granted access to affected WebGUI pages may replace the system configuration and achieve root-level code execution when it is reloaded or the device reboots.
mitigation
Restrict access to the affected WebGUI configuration-management pages to fully trusted administrators, and review existing account page privileges. Limit WebGUI access to administrative networks and monitor configuration changes until a vendor-fixed release is identified.
outcome
Contextual: an exploit technique exists, but no deterministic check could cover this one.
