description

hMailServer versions 6.0.0 through 6.3.6 can mishandle externally supplied mail-loop state. A remote unauthenticated sender may cause generated mail to recur until mail queues or storage disrupt service, when configured forwarding, reply, redirect, or similar automation forms a mail-generation cycle.

mitigation

Upgrade hMailServer to version 6.3.7. Until the upgrade is complete, disable or restrict mail-processing rules and Sieve actions that can generate forwarding or automated-response cycles, and monitor queue and disk consumption.
