description

AsyncHttpClient versions through 3.0.11 and 2.16.0 can reuse a plaintext proxy connection after a proxy rejects a tunnel request. An untrusted proxy, or an attacker able to answer on the client-to-proxy path, may obtain origin credentials when the application sends credentialed requests through that proxy.

mitigation

Upgrade async-http-client to 3.0.12 or later on the 3.x line, or to 2.16.1 or later on the 2.x line. Until upgraded, do not route credentialed requests through untrusted HTTP proxies.

fixed in 3.0.12, 2.16.1
