description

@backstage/plugin-techdocs-node improperly validates certain TechDocs documentation configuration, which can allow code to run in the generator runtime. An authenticated attacker must be able to register or influence an SCM-backed documentation source; risk is higher where generation has credentials, filesystem access, or internal network access.

mitigation

Upgrade @backstage/plugin-techdocs-node to 1.14.8, 1.15.6, or 2.0.1, as appropriate for the deployed release line; do not rely on 1.15.4 alone. Until upgraded, isolate external TechDocs generation from sensitive credentials and host access, and restrict and review documentation configuration changes.

fixed in 1.15.4
