description

ZITADEL hosted Login V1 and Login V2 are affected in 3.x versions earlier than 3.4.14 and 4.x versions earlier than 4.16.2. An unauthenticated attacker who knows a user's login name may add an attacker-controlled authenticator and access that account without satisfying its existing password or MFA requirements.

mitigation

Upgrade ZITADEL 3.x to 3.4.14 or later, or ZITADEL 4.x to 4.16.2 or later. Prioritize instances that expose the hosted Login V1 or Login V2 interfaces.

fixed in 4.16.2, 3.4.14
