CVE-2026-104846
validatedZero produced an exploit or a check.GHSA-p6vx-979v-rg4c ↗EUVD-2026-91747 ↗
description
Seroval 0.12.0 through 1.6.1 is affected when applications use plugin-capable releases and deserialize untrusted data with fromJSON. An attacker who can supply the serialized JSON may cause an application-controlled callable associated with a thenable value to be invoked during Promise processing.
mitigation
Upgrade seroval to version 1.6.2. Until upgraded, do not pass attacker-controlled serialized JSON to fromJSON, especially in configurations that enable plugins.
fixed in 1.6.2
outcome
Mechanism verified: the exploit fired on the vulnerable build and stayed silent on the patched one, but the server it ran against was ours, so no check ships for it.
