description

SimpleForm for WordPress versions through 3.10.0 allow unauthenticated privilege escalation through the plugin's account-registration functionality. A remote visitor can create an account with administrator privileges when the vulnerable plugin is installed and its public front-end endpoint is reachable.

mitigation

Disable or remove the SimpleForm plugin, or block unauthenticated access to its registration endpoint, until a vendor update is available. Review WordPress user accounts for unexpected administrators and remove any unauthorized accounts.
