description

Formwork versions earlier than 2.3.13 have a path traversal flaw in the BackupController on Linux. An authenticated panel user with backup download or deletion privileges may read or delete files outside the backup storage area.

mitigation

Upgrade Formwork to version 2.3.13 or later. Until upgrading, restrict backup download and deletion permissions to trusted panel users.

fixed in 2.3.13
