description

Punk 0.48 through 0.54 handles HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 WebSocket setup requests as GET requests without applying Origin validation. A hostile website can cause a visitor's browser to attempt cross-origin WebSocket handshakes to GET endpoints and observe whether those endpoints respond successfully; the target must be reachable over HTTP/2 or HTTP/3.

mitigation

Upgrade Punk to version 0.55 or later. Until upgrading, disable HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 where practical or limit access to affected services from untrusted origins.

fixed in 0.55
