description

Vitess deployments using affected versions of the vitess.io/vitess Go module can reflect untrusted values through the /twopcz HTTP handler. An unauthenticated attacker who can reach the endpoint may cause code to run in an operator's browser after the operator follows a malicious request, potentially exposing diagnostic data available to that browser. Exposure is greater when the HTTP interface is reachable and its ACL permits unauthenticated access.

mitigation

Upgrade vitess.io/vitess to 0.23.5 or 0.24.2, as appropriate for your release line. Until then, restrict /twopcz and the vttablet HTTP interface to trusted operators and enforce a restrictive ACL.

fixed in 0.23.5, 0.24.2
