CVE-2026-100723
waiting for further signalsZero needs more public information before it can validate it.GHSA-43rv-jrfh-9mrr ↗EUVD-2026-87856 ↗
description
vm2 before 3.12.2 can expose pooled host Buffer memory through NodeVM when an application permits the Node.js zlib builtin. Untrusted sandbox code may read sensitive data from neighboring host buffers and alter their contents. Exploitation requires the application to explicitly allowlist zlib for the guest.
mitigation
Upgrade vm2 to version 3.12.2 or later. Until upgraded, remove zlib from the NodeVM builtin allowlist for untrusted guests.
fixed in 3.12.2
outcome
No artifact: an exploit or check was attempted but could not be produced at this moment.
